After graduating from college Takaaki Okamoto went to work at The Fuji Bank, Limited (now Mizuho Bank, Ltd.) After that, he joined Opt, Inc. (now Digital Holdings, Inc.), where he served as general manager of the President's Office and the Business Development Division. In August 2006, he founded TradeSafe Inc. (now Commerce One Holdings Inc.) and became its representative director. Thereafter, he became a director of Future Shop Co., Ltd. in March 2010, and Softel Inc. in September 2011.
